Karisto Oy, founded year 1900, is a general-line publisher with a wide list of topics. We publish both fiction and non-fiction by Finnish authors, as well as translated titles.
The fiction list includes popular novels, crime & thrillers and fantasy. We are the Finnish publisher of several prominent authors of modern fantasy: David Eddings, Robert Jordan, Terry Pratchett, Tad Williams and Patricia A. McKillip. Our crime & thriller authors include Lee Child, Jason Goodwin, Simon Beckett and Ann Cleeves.
The non-fiction list covers a variety of interests: health & fitness, history, family & childcare, pets, fishing & hunting, self-improvement. Many of the non-fiction titles are richly illustrated co-editions.
For young readers we offer a variety of novels, both series fiction and stand-alone titles. Their topics range from modern life to history and fantasy. Colourful non-fiction books are also published within the youth list, and young children enjoy our lively picture books.
Each year Karisto publishes approximately a hundred new titles, and numerous reprints of the extensive backlist.
